    LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Process Engineer for their client located in Sanilac County, MI. The Process Engineer will be responsible for evaluating existing processes, designing efficient systems, and overseeing project implementation to enhance recovery, reduce costs, and improve sustainability. This role involves collaborating with engineering teams, coordinating equipment purchases and installations, and providing technical support to ensure project accuracy and quality.

    Responsibilities:

    • Evaluate existing processes and develop strategies to maximize recovery while reducing costs and improving sustainability.
    • Design and implement process improvements, including equipment requirements, project budgets, and schedules.
    • Coordinate with engineering teams and factory personnel to define project scope, develop P&ID's, drawings, and specifications, and manage bid packages.
    • Provide technical assistance, review KPI data, and identify opportunities to enhance process operations.
    • Train factory personnel on new processes, provide start-up support, and ensure smooth handoff for ongoing operations and asset management.
    • Investigate and troubleshoot process-related problems, procedures, and operations to ensure optimal performance.
    • Develop structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation layouts in collaboration with internal and external disciplines.
    • Monitor project compliance with codes, standards, QA/QC policies, and performance specifications.
    • Coordinate with support groups for environmental, safety, power, and controls services related to engineering projects.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering field.
    • 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
    • Proven work experience as a Process Engineer, preferably in the sugar industry.
    • Proficiency in process modeling software (e.g., Aspen, MATLAB) and AutoCAD drafting.
    • Strong technical knowledge of ASME boiler, pressure vessel, and piping codes.
    • Experience specifying process equipment such as pumps, heat exchangers, evaporators, centrifuges, tanks, etc., relevant to the sugar industry.
    • Familiarity with bulk material handling equipment such as conveyors, elevators, mixers, packaging equipment, etc., including explosion protection measures.
