    Staff Accountant


    Reports to:
    Accounting Manager


    The Staff Accountant primary responsibility is to prepare and maintain detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts on a daily and monthly basis.

    Other duties may be assigned by supervisor and/or Trustco Bank's Board of Directors.

    Prepare and maintain detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts on a daily and monthly basis.

    Maintain the Fixed Asset ledger and associated depreciation schedules on the Sage Software system; prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations to ensure the proper recording of new purchases and disposals.

    Maintain the Prepaid ledger, associated amortization schedules and reconciliations by preparing monthly journal entries to ensure proper amortization and recording of prepaid expenses.

    Assist in maintaining the Investment ledger through IPS by performing daily and monthly amortization, assisting with investment calls, purchases and sales.

    Assist with the preparation of monthly reconciliations to ensure proper recording of investments.

    Support the timely reporting of key financial information, monitor the performance and quality of activities performed based upon company standards.

    An associate's degree in business related field or equivalent level of education and experience.
    Working knowledge with Microsoft Office Programs; Excel and Word.

    Bachelor's degree in business related field.

    This is a full-time position. Office hours Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

    Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace; bilingual skills a plus.

    This is largely sedentary role, requiring use of typical office equipment such as a computer, laptop and phone.
