    Description

    Responsibilities:

    • Engages with the public, welcomes program participants and guests, and directs them to appointments.
    • Answers phones and takes messages.
    • Uses participant-centered interpersonal skills when interacting with the public and program participants.
    • Maintains clinic schedule and assists participants in scheduling appointments.
    • Pre-screen program applicants for basic demographic data and ensure no duplicate enrollments.
    • Manages schedule and follows up with participants who miss appointments.
    • Verifies identity, residency, and income eligibility, documenting in program database.
    • Documents any ineligible applicants in program database.
    • Provides notification and obtains consent for referrals to other services.
    • Reviews participants' rights and responsibilities, documenting consent and signature.
    • Ensures compliance with National Voter Registration Act requirements during enrollment.
    • May take height and weight measurements and other basic health information as needed.
    • Promotes and supports breastfeeding among program participants.
    • Assists with community engagement and outreach events at the clinic.
    • Gathers, tabulates, and maintains statistical data, prepares reports as needed.
    • Enters documents, records, and information into computer systems.
    • Places orders for office supplies.
    • Responds to inquiries about departmental or City programs and services.
    • Prepares patient admission forms, receives and records laboratory results.

    Location & Hours:

    • Address: Multiple locations
    • Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm OR 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (depending on clinic location)
    • *Some additional hours may be required in case of a public health emergency

    Additional Information:

    • This position is in the Career Service.

    Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • One year of clerical experience or equivalent training and experience.

    Selection Criteria:

    • Applicants must complete an interview, test, and written exercise or skills assessment test.
    • The best-suited candidate based on the interview process will be selected.

    Preference will be given to candidates with:

    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook)
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Previous customer service experience
    • Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university
