    Scope of Role:
    The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will oversee (in conjunction with Plant Management) the electrical, pneumatic , hydraulic, mechanical, and infrastructure systems of the Flex-O
    • Glass plants, which includes from design and planning to installation and troubleshooting.
    Senior Manufacturing Engineer will manage the day-to-day technical support with emphasis on plant improvements, process and protocol safety. Successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of planning and executing projects from implementation to project resolution. Individual will work cross-functionally with various departments and teams at both of our facilities.

    The selected individual will also be required to improve the plant's efficiencies, upgrade technologies, work with the maintenance teams to repair equipment, and analyze ways to increase production.

    Position will be based out of our Chicago, IL facility but requires selected candidate to travel to our Dixon, IL facility as needed.


    Responsibilities:
    Maintain accurate record keeping of plant drawings, designs, programming and machine systems.
    Lead Maintenance/CAPEX planning and purchasing activities; including vendor selection, defining, product specifications, and/or vendor negotiations.
    Key Stakeholder in Continuous Improvement investigations and implementations.
    Teach/Train machine componentry, safe and efficient operations practices and be able to problem solve.
    Design and implement machinery and manufacturing equipment and processes.
    Serve as project manager for large scale projects.
    Key Stakeholder in defining and ensuring all safety policies are adhered to; including lock-out/tag out, overhead and hot-work procedures.
    Lead on-site inspections - as required.

    Identify operational risks and develop mitigation plan, including equipment obsolescenceOn-call services may be required for emergency equipment repair and/or lockouts during nights or weekends.

    Ability to travel between both facilities located in Chicago, IL and Dixon, IL as needed for planned projects.
    Other duties as assigned.


    Qualifications:
    5+ years of plant engineering experienceBachelor's Degree in engineeringPlastic Extrusion ExperienceStrong mechanical & electrical aptitude - including PLC and (some) Relay LogicEffective leadership capabilities with ability to lead team on various projects concurrentlyGreat problem-solving abilitiesGeneral Electric Motor knowledge HP (AC and DC)General computer skills required (Microsoft Office, Solidworks/CAD)Knowledge of OSHA regulations and requirementsStrong communication and organizational skills, meticulous attention to detailAbility to work cross-functionally and adept to working within various employee groups on concurrent projects

    Experience level:
