Precertification Specialist - Athens - Athens Orthopedic Clinic

This position will be associated with the Athens ASC.
As an Ambulatory Surgery Center Pre-certification Specialist, you will be responsible for the following:

• Obtaining benefit information by phone or website to verify patient coverage for those patients with upcoming surgical procedures scheduled for the Ambulatory Surgery Center and entering this information into the electronic database.
• Scheduling surgical procedures.
• Communicating with team members regarding additional information needed, i.e., referrals, etc.

Education/Qualifications: The successful candidate for this position will possess the following education/qualifications:

• Must be a high school graduate or possess a GED equivalent.
• Must be service oriented.
• Must have strong attention to details. Must be able to multi-task and productively work with some competing priorities.
• Previous experience working with insurance and benefits verification in a health care environment is preferred.
