Position Summary

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and financial reporting.

This role supervises a small accounting team and plays a critical role in maintaining strong internal controls, audit readiness, and financial discipline. The Accounting Manager will help ensure the integrity of financial data while supporting business operations through accurate and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, collections, and reconciliations.
  • Review and approve journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reports.
  • Support and help execute the month-end close process to ensure timely reporting.

Financial Controls & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal control standards.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation across payroll and AP functions.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to support internal and external audit requests.
  • Identify and address discrepancies proactively to mitigate financial risk.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise and support a small team of accounting professionals.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and development support.
  • Promote accountability, accuracy, and operational discipline within the team.

Process Improvement

  • Evaluate existing accounting processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support initiatives that strengthen financial visibility and cash flow management.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment between finance and operational teams.


Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Prior experience supervising or leading accounting staff preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control practices.
  • Experience managing AP and AR functions in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
