    POSITION PURPOSE
    Promote awareness of brand image internally and externally.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Assists with maintaining Social Media pages for the entities within the Westin/Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa property, including resorts, F&B Outlets, Spa, and events.

    Responsible for scheduling, editing, publishing and sharing content.
    Assists monitoring internet, social media pages, and referral platforms for company and brand reputation management.
    Supports promoting property events through social media sources.
    Uses metrics to measure the success of various marketing sources and tactics.
    Helping to determine need periods for our markets and the development of campaigns.
    Helping in overseeing projects with our PR, Social, and influencer agencies.
    Supports digital marketing with various campaigns and project based work.

    Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.

    Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.


    Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

    In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.


    Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Westin/Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel's facilities.

    Employees who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.


    SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
    In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel:
    Attend and coordinate on-premise and off-premise events, food shows, workshops, etc.
    Assist in greeting influencers, when needed.
    Perform other duties as required in an effort to assist any other department on property.
    SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:

    Ability to be on-site and work at assigned location.

    Ability to work independently and in a group environment with excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal and team working skills.

    Proficient with social media and presentation software such as Microsoft Office Suite, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and blogs
    Proactive and action oriented with an attention to detail
    Familiar with Marketing principles
    Tracking and processing invoices
    Understanding and ability to leverage social media and digital platforms
    Develop images, logos, layouts, and other designs by hand or using design software
    Testing graphics across various media
    Preferred Skills

    The following skills are not necessary yet will greatly improve the strength of the individual:

    Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, i.e., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat.
    Graphic design and layout experience
    Physical Demands

    This position is 100% Onsite.
    Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature generally is moderate and controlled by resort environmental systems.

    Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space and to reach other departments of the resort on a timely basis.

    Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
    Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
    Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
    Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near and color vision and depth perception.
    Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.

    Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, 10-key adding machine, electric typewriter, multi-line touch tone phone, filing cabinets, FAX machines, photocopiers, dolly and other office equipment as needed.


    QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
    Education

    High School diploma or equivalent required.
    Bachelor's degree or actively pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or affiliate preferred.
    Experience
    Graphic design and InDesign experience is a

    PLUS.
    Experience with marketing, social media, and/or PR is preferred
