    The Chief Scientific Officer (CSO), Hematology, Danaher Diagnostics, will help accelerate the companys portfolio of innovative solutions through organic and inorganic efforts in all aspects of hematological diagnostic applications.

    Reporting to the CSO, Danaher Diagnostics, this position will provide medical/clinical, scientific, and technological insights and related expertise to the Diagnostics Operating Companies (OpCos) in developed economies and high-growth market countries/regions.

    Working with other science, technology, and business leaders, the CSO for Hematology, Danaher Diagnostics will use a strong network and knowledge of emerging trends to help identify and evaluate early-stage technology investments, M&A opportunities, and organic investments to bring industry- leading Hematological diagnostics solutions to market.

    Drive the development of Hematology science and technology strategy and support OpCo, cross-OpCo and cross-platform execution.

    • Partner with Platform and Corporate Chief Scientific Officers and Innovation Center (IC) personnel to develop investment/innovation frameworks with focus on early-stage investment to close technology gaps and identify/invest in white space disruptive technologies.
    • Participate in M&A and open innovation target identification and due diligence activities and provide counsel on scientific and innovation opportunities and risks as well as lead process to define and cultivate external institutional relationships, collaborations, and investments for Danaher to build a pipeline of leading-edge thinking and technology sources in the area of diagnostics for Hematological conditions.
    • Cultivate engagements between Danaher and biopharma key opinion leaders (KOLs) in hematology and related disease areas; possess in depth knowledge of biopharma drug pipelines in hematology and anticipate the diagnostic needs of pharma (from Research Use Only (RUO) to Clinical Trial Assay (CTA) to In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) inclusive of Companion Diagnostics (CDx) and Lab Developed Tests (LDTs)).
    • Support Danaher Diagnostic Operating Companys Medical and Scientific Affairs and Government Affairs organizations on their strategy so that it maximizes patient impact at scale.
    • Advise Executive Vice President, business development, business, and technical leaders in the organization regarding scientific and technical matters, particularly associated with the convergence of Life Science and Diagnostics technologies related to diagnostics for Hematological conditions.
    • Identify new research opportunities beyond the OpCo or Platform core R&D efforts and support strategic IP management, as well as guidance around FDA and international regulatory matters, partnering with Platform and OpCo legal counsel.
    • Cultivate new technical business, and talent within the market using the Danaher brand as well as coach and consult to create alignment that maximizes innovation across OpCos participating in Hematological applications.
    D. and PhD.

    degrees preferred, or MD with 14+ years experience and established research track record as evidenced by publications and/or professional accomplishments.

    PhDs with extensive diagnostics experience would also be considered. Board certification in Hematology highly desirable.

    • 5 years of experience developing, leading and influencing cross functional teams including budget responsibility as well as Proven success mentoring and growing diverse scientific talent.
    • Extensive experience in the Diagnostics, Pharmaceutical and/or Life Sciences industries; Expertise with related Hematological diagnostic applications and technologies, patents and other intellectual property.
    • Proven track record of success in hematology clinical research and/or clinical management of patients with benign and/or malignant hematological conditions a plus.
    • Ability to combine and apply scientific/technical and business knowledge and demonstrate strong business acumen and ability to make balanced decisions.
    • Practical knowledge and experience working with relevant regulatory bodies, such as the FDA, SFDA, EMEA regulatory bodies, WHO, etc.
    Experience in project, portfolio and/or program management; commercial/customer-facing functions

    • Experience in planning, conducting, and reporting clinical trial results (IVD or pharmaceuticals)
    • Experience influencing various stakeholders to drive change and achieve results in a dynamic, complex environment and leadership in the successful management of clinical programs, including interpretation, summarization, and presentation of scientific data.
