    Description

    We're hiring a

    Distribution Operations Manager

    to streamline operations, ensure timely deliveries, and maximize efficiency, driving success in our distribution center

    What You Will Be Doing:
    Manages and coordinates the receiving and distribution of products and parts.

    Establishes lean procedures that result in the maximization of sales through timely deliveries.

    Assigns duties, such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments and handling and disposition of merchandise.


    Coordinates activities of the distribution center with manufacturing and FDC locations, facilitates logistics of the distribution process, coordinating the process in such a way as to make sure customer requirements and time constraints are met.

    Makes decisions to maximize trailer utilization to keep transportation costs to a minimum


    Your future team:
    As a Distribution Operations Manager you will work with cross functional teams of the operations network at Steelcase.

    People management skills
    Good verbal/written communication skills to deal effectively with employees as well as other departments, vendors with items that occasionally are sensitive and confidential
    Problem solving skills with the ability to think globally.
    Excellent interpersonal skills.
    Must demonstrate good use of judgment, planning, organizing, delegation, analysis and follow up.
    Financial acumen-understands budgeting.
    Must be willing to be hands on and provide help when needed
    Must be willing and able to lead projects and achieve successful project results.
    Must demonstrate initiative, tolerance for stress, adaptability to impact.
    Must have good knowledge of the Distribution process including SAP, engineering methods, quality system, and safety requirements.
    Required Skills and Competencies
    Bachelors degree or equivalent experience (8-10 years)
    Supervisory or management experience
    Distribution experience
