    Description

    Overview:
    We are seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Substation Design Engineer to join our team.

    As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of civil infrastructure for electrical substations.

    You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful execution of projects, adhering to industry standards and regulations while maintaining a focus on innovation and efficiency.

    Responsibilities

    Design Development:

    Lead the conceptualization, design, and detailing of civil infrastructure for electrical substations, including foundations, structures, access roads, drainage systems, and fencing, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.


    Technical Analysis:

    Conduct structural and geotechnical analyses to assess the integrity and stability of proposed designs, considering factors such as load-bearing capacity, soil properties, seismic forces, and environmental impacts.


    Collaboration:

    Work closely with electrical engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to integrate civil designs seamlessly with electrical components, ensuring optimal functionality, safety, and reliability of the substation infrastructure.


    Regulatory Compliance:

    Stay abreast of relevant codes, regulations, and permitting requirements governing civil design for electrical substations, ensuring all designs meet or exceed mandated standards and facilitate necessary approvals.


    Quality Assurance:

    Perform thorough reviews and quality checks of design documents, drawings, and specifications to identify and resolve any discrepancies or inconsistencies, maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and precision.


    Cost Estimation:

    Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and budgets for civil construction activities, providing valuable input to project planning and resource allocation efforts.


    Risk Management:

    Identify potential risks and challenges associated with civil design aspects of substations, proposing mitigation strategies and alternative solutions to minimize project disruptions and ensure timely delivery.


    Innovation and Optimization:

    Explore new technologies, materials, and construction methods to optimize the design process, enhance efficiency, and improve the performance and longevity of substation infrastructure.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
    Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
    Proven experience (3-5 years) in civil design and engineering, with a focus on substations or related infrastructure projects.
    Proficiency in industry-standard design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD.Pro) and geotechnical analysis tools.
    Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, structural analysis, and construction practices.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
    Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work within specified timelines.
    Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE, ASCE) governing electrical substations and civil infrastructure design.
