Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is seeking a Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Assembly Mechanic in the Berkeley and Hazelwood area in MO This is an exciting opportunity to assist in developing and improving the non-destructive inspection and or test techniques for Quality and Operations.
Position Responsibilities:
Have the skills and knowledge to set up and standardize equipment, conduct system performance checks, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results.
Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the technique and/or Method in which they are certified.Have the skills and knowledge to conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard.
Be familiar with the codes, standards, and other contractual specifications that control the Method used at their Site.
Have a basic knowledge of relevant product manufacturing and inspection technology.
Be capable of providing the necessary guidance and/or supervision to trainees and Level 1 personnel in the technique and/or method in which they are certified.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location option.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
High School Diploma
Mechanical Aptitude
Ability to stand and walk throughout work, as well as carry and lift up to 35 pounds
*This position requires an Occupational Health vision exam
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 1+ years of Aircraft experience
NDT Level II Training - 32 hours of formal training (16 in magnetic particle and 16 in dye penetrant)
Ability to become proficient with the principles and practices of the applicable test methods and techniques.
Experience with magnetic particle and dye penetrant testing
Typical Education / Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor, 3 years' related work experience, etc.).
Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is requiredThe selected candidate must be able to work any shift, as assigned.This is an hourly position governed by the IAM Collective Bargaining agreement.
New Hires, as well as employees who transfer from non-union positions, may be required to attend some type of training upon their start.
Once any required training has been completed all new employees will be considered on probation for a period of one hundred twenty (120) calendar days.
Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of any required training and the probationary period.Relocation:
