    Description
    Duties * Serves as Supervisory Deputy Product Manager for assigned Acquisition system and/or related mission equipment. * Balances cost, schedule and performance to assure best value for the Army. * Visits industrial facilities, other government agencies and high headquarters to assure adequate program accomplishment. * Reviews programming documents received from HQDA to determine effect on assigned programs. * Conducts analysis and evaluation of programs as they affect assigned equipment. * Oversees POM planning, cost estimating, program planning, programming, budgeting, program integration, interoperability and oversight.

    * Serves as advisor to officials with broader and higher responsibilities on status of project, progress made, projected future plans, and problems.

    * Performs the full range of administrative and technical supervisory duties.

    Requirements Conditions of Employment * Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

    * Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment.

    • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
    • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel away from your permanent duty station requirement of up to 50% of the time.

    * Selectee must meet position requirements for practitioner certification in (A) Program Management within 60 months as of entrance on duty.


    • This is a Critical Acquisition Position (CAP). Incumbent must meet the requirements for CAP.
    • This position requires a 3-year tenure agreement.
    Must sign DD Form 2888 (Critical Acquisition Position Service Agreement) and execute, as a condition of employment, a written tenure agreement.

    SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

    In order to qualify for this position based off experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03 level in the Federal service which includes: (1) Managing the design, development, acquisition planning and programming for acquisition programs; (2) Executing all aspects of the acquisition process (such as development, testing, system integration, production, sustainment and product improvement); (3) Monitoring/tracking cost, schedule and supportability of project/programs; (4) Directing the development of contract strategies, Statements of Work (SOW), Request for Proposals, source selections, technical evaluations and program integration for programs; (5) Preparing and presenting information decision briefings on organization's current programs.

    The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-03 ( or GS-13 equivalent).
