Our Approach

We provide comprehensive high-quality substance abuse and co-occurring treatment and recovery services to individuals and families affected by the disease of addiction. Our staff is committed to providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to implement behavioral interventions, social skill interventions, and support for patients in individual and group therapy to gain the necessary adaptive skills to be successful in recovery.

The Role of Mental Health Therapist

The Mental Health Therapist performs independent work in the therapeutic care, treatment, and rehabilitation of adolescent clients within the program. This position plans and conducts therapeutic activities and counsels therapeutically with clients on an individual and group basis.

Key Responsibilities

Assesses treatment plans for clients with mental health history using the ASI (Addiction Severity Index) and the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders).
Determines the appropriate level of care according to ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) Patient Placement Criteria.
Facilitates co-occurring groups and education about mental health diagnoses.
Collaborates with clients to develop a recovery treatment plan.
Provides substance abuse and mental health counseling services specified in the client treatment plan.
Develops discharge/transfer plan to ensure access to appropriate levels of care.
Contacts, consults, and coordinates with referral sources as appropriate.
Participates with a multidisciplinary team for assigned clients.
Supervises clinical hours for other therapists.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

A Master's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology or related field.
Full certification as an LAC or LSW.
At least two years of experience working as a counselor, preferably in a drug treatment facility.
Availability for evening shifts as needed.
