    STAR, Inc., is a non-profit located in Norwalk, CT that provides support services to individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities and their families for over 70 years.

    This takes many different forms but all with the same goal of improving the lives of those we serve.

    A Day in the Life of the Director of Development:


    In this position you would play a very public and visible role securing donations, gifts, and grants to improve and expand the services STAR provides.

    You would do this by maintaining and deepening relationships with individual & corporate donors, foundations, and other organizations.

    You will be a representative of STAR at various meetings and events educating the community about the services STAR provides to further develop STAR's network of supporters.


    Additionally, you will lead the development team in the planning and coordination of STAR's special events such as auctions, walks and luncheons to name a few.

    These special events are vital to raising funds as well as community awareness of STAR and our services.


    You will also develop coordinated marketing campaigns by developing brochures, newsletters, social media and the Annual Report for distribution to donors, corporations and community leaders to keep all of them up to date and engaged with STAR and the services we provide.


    Qualifications for the Job:
    Bachelor's degree
    At least 5 years of experience with annual giving, corporate and individual giving, and grant preparation.
    Strong multitasker
    Compassion and ability to see the potential in everyone
    Positivity and a team-player attitude

    Schedule :

    40 hours a week Monday-Friday & flexible hours based on the needs and responsibilities of the position.
