- Uphold safety standards and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Process development (NPI) and process improvement (repeat work) are core focus areas.
- Process engineering for new jobs (NPI) including work holding, programming, tooling, documentation, and initial setups to develop parts meeting spec for FAIR/PPAP. Ensure process capability, documentation, and training.
- Work with the team on process improvement and standardization of existing parts. This can include documentation, methods enhancements, capability improvement, setup reduction, and cycle time compression.
- Set up and operate machines as required (NPI emphasis, repeat as required).
- Work with engineering and quality including customers on NPI, PPAPs, and any process issues.
- Train other team members on machine setup and operation.
- Identify and troubleshoot machine malfunctions, diagnose program errors, and implement solutions with the team to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate and detailed production records, including setup sheets, inspection reports, and program documentation with the ERP system.
- Participate in the selection and implementation of new tooling and equipment. Work with the team on the implementation of new equipment.
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for complex parts with team - leveraging CAD/CAM software (e.g., MasterCAM, SolidWorks).
- Minimum 15 years of experience in metal CNC machining operations including programming, setup, and operation. Mills and lathes are required.
- Proven experience in setting up and operating CNC lathes and mills. Must be able to go hands-on with machines as needed.
- Strong understanding of CNC programming principles and G-code language.
- Strong knowledge of work holding design and build for mills and lathes.
- Proficiency in using CAD/CAM software preferred – willingness to continue developing is a plus for future growth.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent at blueprints and GD&T.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to safety.
