    Responsibilities:
    • Providing a safe and healthful workplace ensuring environmental compliance, adherence to plant, departmental and corporate policies and procedures as well as compliance with local, state and federal guidelines to minimize injuries and health concerns to employees.
    • Analyzing manufacturing methods and processes and determining best solutions to problems, initiating needed changes to provide for continuous improvement and meet or exceed budgeted costs.
    • Promoting employee involvement and fostering teamwork through effective communication and recognition to create an atmosphere of mutual trust and commitment to team goals.
    • Managing resources through planning, direction and assignment in order to maximize efficiency in the most strategic and cost-effective way to ensure consistently strong levels of performance in meeting plant, customer and quality requirements.
    • Working closely with the Plant Manager and other department heads on matters related to plant operations and interacts formally and informally with production supervisors and other hourly/salaried employees to achieve goals.
    • Assisting in setting aggressive performance targets and challenging associates to consistently meet or exceed such goals.
    • Supervising and directing the activities of associates such as deciding appropriate training, work direction and guidance to ensure that specific performance standards are consistently met.
    Qualifications:

    We are looking for a strong people leader who combines solid manufacturing knowledge, team building skills and the ability to assess priorities and act decisively within a fast-paced, demanding environment. It is also important that you display excellent communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

    Bachelors Degree in business or a technical discipline, or equivalent level of experience.
    5+ years relevant supervisory experience in a specialized or technical area.
    Previous experience as a first line supervisor is also required; experience successfully managing a 24/7 or multi-shift factory operation is a plus.
    An understanding of glass fabricating technology is an asset.
    Extended workdays, work outside of regular shifts and some travel, in and out of the country, are all periodically required as necessary to keep the line running.

    Must be an excellent listener and be able to size up situations in order to resolve conflict and solve problems with both people and processes.
    Experience with establishing foundational processes and accountability measure is preferred.
    Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and core manufacturing principles
    Required computer skills include experience with Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook.
