    General Description of Position:

    • To act as good will ambassador for the hospital. Be a gate keeper in the relationship and communication between clients and the hospital. Set the tone for the practice to build and maintain each customer's trust and confidence in our abilities.

    Essential Functions:

    • Report to work

    Duties:

    • Client service (First and foremost)
    • Demonstrate excellent relations with clients/pets in waiting and/or exam rooms by ensuring clients feel welcome and comfortable
    • Quickly understand client needs and initiate the process of meeting those needs
    • Resolve client service issues within established guidelines (using procedure and policy)
    • Bring a positive attitude, a service orientation, and high energy
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Compassion for pets and people—as well as awareness and understanding of others' reactions.
    • Ability to work in a team oriented environment
    • Detail oriented
    • Ability to take direction and constructive criticism, with the ability to function in a demanding, multi-task environment and accurately make decisions under stress
    • Proven decision making skills to choose the most appropriate course of action
    • Dependable attendance required
    • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
    • Requires ability to walk, bend, stand and reach continuously during work period
    • Willingness to work long or irregular hours, holidays and in extreme weather conditions, under pressured conditions
    • Understand products we offer and how they are used
    • Answer telephone promptly and professionally, using excellent phone etiquette
    • Keep computer records updated with current client and patient information, i.e. address, telephone number, breed, email, age, rdvm etc.

    Work Environment:

    • Clean and well organized reception area
    • Easily accessible medical equipment and supplies
    • Noisy conditions can occur
    • Protective equipment for nervous animals is easily accessible

    Nights and weekends may be required. Holidays will be required.
