There are four precincts in Harris County.
The four elected commissioners, along with an elected county judge, serve as members of Harris County Commissioners Court, the administrative head of the county's government.
Commissioner Rodney Ellis represents the constituents of Precinct One.With approximately 1.17 million residents, Harris County Precinct One is a diverse, urban precinct that covers 363 square miles.
Precinct One's multi-racial, multi-ethnic population is roughly 33 percent African American, 38 percent Latino, 21 percent Anglo, 6 percent Asian and 2 percent other or multiple races.
Precinct One stretches south to Brazoria County and reaches into eastern and northern sections of Harris County.The Precinct's territory includes a large section of Downtown Houston, including the Downtown Harris County Courthouse Complex, Toyota Center, Minute Maid Park and the BBVA Compass Stadium.
Other notable landmarks include the 263-acre NRG Park Complex and the renowned Texas Medical Center.The Precinct is also the higher educational home to Houston Community College, Rice University, Texas Southern University, the University of Houston and the University of St.
Thomas.Precinct One manages more than 21 parks, 10 community centers, numerous hike-and-bike trails, three maintenance service centers and several area offices, all of which provide an array of services to Precinct One residents.

What you will do at Precinct One :
The Transportation & Mobility Manager will oversee the multi-modal transportation of Road and Bridge fleet.
This includes managing staff, equipment operators, providing technical assistance, providing procurement and budget knowledge, ensuring compliance with regulations, and collaborating with various stakeholders.
The successful candidate will manage staff and transportation operations for road and bridge construction and maintenance, ensuring that equipment is onsite to meet specifications and timelines.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversee and participate in activities and programs of the Transportation Department, including planning, engineering and maintenance projects and programs.
Prepare and manage departmental budget, overseeing procurement and resource allocation for road and bridge fleet equipment.
Ensure compliance with all applicable safety policies, regulations, and procedures related to road and bridge operations.
Oversee equipment transportation to mechanic shops and fleet service centers, ensuring vehicles and equipment are maintained and in compliance with standards.

Requirements
Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Associate Degree or Extensive experience in transporting and fleet procurement
Experience
At least 10 years of experience in transportation planning, engineering, construction and operations maintenance.
Proven ability to lead, manager and motivate diverse teams.
Licensure:
Valid Commercial Drivers License Class

Preference will be given to individuals with knowledge of Fleetio and Samsura transportation management system.
Thorough knowledge of laws as regulations related to transportation related subjects, public infrastructure and construction practices.
Strong communications and problem-solving skills

Ability to set priorities and coordinate multiple assignments
Meet critical deadlines under pressure in a timely manner
Knowledge and ability to use computers and software
General Information
Work Environment
Will generally perform office duties in an office and within Harris County construction locations to deliver equipment
Represent Road & Bridge at external even locations
Physical Demands:
Reach, lift and pull over 40 Ibs.
Work in inclement weather
