    **Job Summary:**

    The Purchasing & Inventory Specialist is responsible for the execution of the Purchasing procedures and providing support to the Director of Purchasing. A primary function includes the development and maintenance of the inventory and tracking system. Works across functional boundaries to ensure high levels of customer service and satisfaction relative to procurement of goods and services.

    **Primary Responsibilities and Specific Duties:**

    Executes the tactical operations of materials management and purchasing function.

    Verifies purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to master list; clarifying unclear items; recommending alternatives.

    Creates Purchase Orders and places orders with appropriate vendors.

    Recommends promotional, seasonal and opportunistic buys.

    Responsible for delivery schedules, as well as ensuring accountability in the receiving process.

    Provides timely turn-around on all requisitions and purchase orders.

    Coordinates returns of goods with sites.

    Maintains purchasing documents in a systematic, retrievable manner.

    Maintains inventory of donated items and coordinates delivery of inventory items to sites.

    Prepares invoices for processing by Accounts Payable.

    Tracks receipt of donated goods.

    Assists in training of new staff and ongoing development of staff utilizing the purchasing system to increase accuracy and efficiency. Works with software vendor to establish and maintain Inventory Tracking System.

    Performs initial set up of inventory tracking software and data input.

    Works with software vendor on updates and product improvements.

    Manages purchases, deletions and transfers of inventory in tracking system.

    Performs physical inventory at all locations at least once annually.

    Compiles reports on inventory.

    Assists in equipment maintenance management.

    Maintains preventive maintenance schedules and notifications for equipment.

    Coordinates annual equipment inspections.

    Assists in coordination of repair/replace requests for equipment.

    Prepares confidential information.

    Knowledge of company's mission, purpose and goals.

    General office duties.

    Must travel to all CHC centers as requested.

    Other duties as assigned.

    **Qualifications:**

    **Education:**

    High school diploma or equivalent.

    **Experience:**

    3 year's experience with general purchasing and/or accounting functions.

    Strong reading, writing, basic math and verbal communication skills required.

    Must be able to multi-task and work in a varied and fast-paced environment.

    Self-starter that is highly motivated to achieve and exceed the company's goals in the purchasing and procurement arena.

    Possess and maintain high ethical standards to support a professional and highly visible business code of conduct.

    **Special Skills:**

    Ability and willingness to work with people of various knowledge levels.

    Knowledge of Microsoft office products a must.

    Ability to quickly master purchasing, OCR and accounting software.

    Ability to create solutions and work-arounds to barriers.

    **Other Requirements:**

    Able to work flexible hours as needed.
