    Description


    Summary You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (SYSANALYSIS) in the OPERATIONS PROCESS & TRANSITION DIVISION of FLT NUMER OCEANGPHY METEO CTR.

    Responsibilities You will serve as an expert on high performance computer platforms (HPC) operations. You will manage Alpha, Beta and Operational Product Production Runs.

    You will maintain and write job control scripts using a combination of Linux Shell scripting, Python and Perl programming languages.

    You will develop and maintain custom programs and/or tools to perform analytics and visualization of the OPS Run. You will update scheduling software and configurations files used for managing Alpha, Beta and Operational Product Production Runs.

    You will provide troubleshooting support to developers/modelers during software porting and system upgrades with a focus on complex software/hardware deficiencies.

    Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications FOR THE GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.


    Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
    Experience applying knowledge of the Linux operating system and experience diagnosing/resolving system incident, problems, and events. Experience applying knowledge of software failure/recovery procedures. Experience applying knowledge of software integration. Experience applying knowledge of information assurance principles and practices. Experience applying knowledge of 24/7 IT data processing. Experience applying knowledge of software monitoring and evaluation for High Performance Computing clusters. Experience applying knowledge executing, implementing, documenting and debugging database systems and software applications.

    Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas:
    attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

    FOR THE GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

    Graduate Education:

    Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

    In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience. GS-12: There are no educational substitutions for specialized experience for GS-12. GS-11: Successful completion of a Ph.
    D. OR Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.
