    Overview
    Flaget Memorial Hospital is a 52-bed facility located in Bardstown Kentucky. We provide care for patients from Nelson Hardin Marion Washington Spencer Bullitt and LaRue counties.

    Founded in 1951 by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth Flaget Memorial Hospital is nationally recognized for orthopedic care surgical care and inpatient satisfaction.

    We offer a complete array of services including cancer care heart care outpatient rehabilitation skilled nursing weight loss surgery pain management general surgery obstetrics and gynecology maternity care and sports medicine.

    The cancer center is proud to be able to provide full support and cancer care to patients through its medical and radiation oncology programs.

    Responsibilities
    Provides direct patient care under the supervision of the licensed nursing staff within the scope of practice. Contributes to the safe and efficient operation of nursing services.


    Essential Key Job Responsibilities

    • _Communicates_
      effectively and appropriately.
    • _Contributes_
      to maintenance of clean, safe environment to minimize hazards of infection or injury to patients and/or staff.
    • _Obtains_
      basic physical assessment data (vital signs, intake/output, weights etc.) and documents in patient medical record.
    • _Provides_
      routine and procedural hygienic needs to patients.
    • _Assist_
      in meeting patient's activity needs to include: elimination, comfort and privacy by responding to patient's request.
    • _Assist_
      with performance of PT needs under the assistance of RN/PT to include range of motion, ambulation, transfers, ADL training for home care.
    • _Demonstrates_
      competency in unit protocols for performing EKG's(if applicable), glucose monitoring, and other competencies based on department discretion.
    • _Demonstrates knowledge related to age appropriate behavior of pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics as applicable._
    • _Documents_
      or reports care provided, observations, and pertinent information to the nursing services.
    • _Assist_ in prevention of nosocomial infections as evidenced by adherence to infection control policies and procedures.
    • _Uses_ personal protective equipment and complies with all universal precautions, bloodborne pathogens and specific isolation precautions (e.g. contact, airborne, protective).
    • _Completes_ patient care assignments by the end of the shift or reports status of care to charge nurse.
    • _Makes rounds on patients hourly._
    • _Responds_ to requests promptly and courteously.
    • _Attends_ all mandatory hospital-based in services on time.
    • _Assist_ with orientation of new unit personnel according to unit protocol.
    • _Attends_ 80% of shift meetings, reads and initials all meeting minutes.
    • _Completes_ all core and unit specific competencies on time.
    • _Assists_ in delivering high quality health care services in a professional, compassionate, and courteous manner while respecting the dignity and individuality of each person who comes in contact with the organization by following the standards of excellence, standards of behavior, and the standards of professional appearance and conduct.
    • _Other duties as assigned._

    Qualifications

    Required Education:

    • Certification of nursing assistance required.
    • High School Diploma or GED

    Required Licensure:

    • BLS

    PREFERRED Qualifications:

    • At least 1 year experience in healthcare setting preferred.

    Pay Range
    $ $19.10 /hour
