    Position Summary

    The Director of Sales is responsible for joint business planning with customers to drive volume, profit and share growth across the Egglands Best refrigerated and frozen portfolios at Ahold Delhaize, Albertsons and other regional retailers.

    Responsibilities include proactively managing, monitoring, evaluating, and updating the overall business plan to meet all sales objectives.

    The Director of Sales implements Egglands Best brand strategies with customers, collaborating closely with key decision makers and employing category management initiatives to achieve Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising, and Pricing goals.


    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
    Executes the Egglands Best go-to-market strategy at retailers in the assigned geography
    Lead the joint business planning process with the customer.
    Effectively analyze and communicate category trends, innovation, market conditions, competitor knowledge in their assigned geography.

    Conduct customer specific category business reviews to discuss the state of the business, consumer trends, key business drivers, incremental opportunities.

    Conducting store audits to ensure shelf standards are followed and pricing and promotional plans are executed.
    Develop and implement trade promotion strategies and tactical plans with each customer.

    Proactively monitor and update the customer's overall business plan, including managing trade budgets, spending, and volume, to achieve all sales objectives versus plan.

    Monitor and manage deduction balances and conduct post audits.

    Conduct post event analysis to evaluate promotional volume, consumption, profit and spending results versus plan and leverage findings to maximize future promotional opportunities.

    Understand Egglands Best brand strategies and tactics and implement them by working closely with the customer's key decision makers, including buyers, category managers, merchandising leaders, etc.

    Leverage company Category Management resources appropriately.
    Utilize sound category management practices to proactively link consumer and shopper insights/trends and opportunities.
    Sell-in new items to customer and work with key customer personnel to achieve optimal distribution and execution.
    Leverage Customer Marketing resources to develop and implement collaborative marketing programs in alignment with brand and customer strategies.

    Qualifications, Skills, and Education:
    Bachelor's degree (B.A or B.S) in Sales, Business Administration, Business Management.
    10+ years of successful sales experience with increased responsibility with retail customers.
    Established relationships and demonstrated success working with Giant Eagle, Ahold and Albertsons.
    Working knowledge of financials used in the sales process such as costing, margin, profitability, promotional spending, and allowances.

    Passionate and results oriented individual who demonstrates persistence in the face of obstacles ability to problem solves and innovate to succeed.

    Strong planning and organizational skills along with excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication, and presentation skills.
    Full competence with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
    Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
    Demonstrated ability to excel in a hands-on, fast paced entrepreneurial environment.
    Highly adaptable and resourceful; proactive versus reactive.
    Proficient in Syndicated Data Tools including, but not limited to SPINs, IRI, Nielsen, 84/51 etc.

    Key Requirements :
    position requires approximately 30% travel.
    position is home office based.
    successful candidate should live near a major airport.
