    Opportunity:

    Registered Nurse - PCU

    Job Details:


    • Work 3x12 hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM

    • Patient ratio of 1:5

    • Weekend requirement of 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block

    • Float required within skillset to other PCU or medical/surgical level of care units

    • EPIC charting system experience required

    • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

    • Chronic ventilator experience required for medical/pulmonary unit with renal overflow

    • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required

    • Provide care for adult and geriatric patients on Hospitalist service with pulmonary and medicine-related conditions

    • Unit can accommodate up to two ventilated patients (chronic trach patients, not ICU level)

    • Manage cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and cardiac drips without titration

    • Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care

    • Provide respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management

    • Participate in Rapid Response and Code teams

    • Maintain isolation precautions and PPE protocols

    • Work with remote telemetry monitoring system

    • Required to work at least 1 holiday per 13-week assignment (2 holidays during winter season)

    • 32 hours of orientation provided

The 20-bed telemetry PCU specializes in care and management of patients with pulmonary and medicine-related illnesses, featuring remote telemetry monitoring and tele-sitting technology. The hospital offers comprehensive specialty services and maintains a strong focus on quality patient care with extensive interdisciplinary support teams.
