Description

SkyWater is looking for a Quality Assurance Senior Engineer for supplier management, cost reduction, and support new product introduction.

Responsibilities:

Manages assigned Suppliers through the review of Supplier performance data, communication of Supplier performance with Supplier, driving improvements in Supplier's delivered Quality, evaluation and validation of Supplier proposed changes and completion of Supplier improvement or qualification audits as needed.

Identifies and manages cost reduction projects for assigned suppliers to deliver targeted savings to the company.
Issue Supplier corrective actions when appropriate. Work with Suppliers to close SCARs in a timely manner.
Daily Quality support for issues arising in incoming inspection, MRB and on the production lines.

Supports the New Product Introduction, Cost Reduction, and part resourcing activities through the completion of Supplier outsource validations of designed parts/assemblies.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or other technical discipline.

2+ years' experience in a Quality Engineering support role with cost savings/cost reduction experience within the electronics, metals, plastic injection molded parts, cables, electro-mechanical assemblies or other regulated industry.

Experience using problem solving tools to drive to root cause.
Proficiency with the 8D problem solving tool required.
Knowledge of development and execution of validation strategies including IQ, OQ, PQ.

Quality tools such as documentation review, process flow maps, control charts and PFMEA both at company and the Supplier base.

Background in product structure, BOMs and MRP systems. Background with ISO13485, IS09001, IATF 16949, and AS9100.
Prior experience effectively prioritize initiatives/projects to meet expectations.
Proven ability to identify problems of varying complexity and review related information to develop, evaluate and implement solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

8+ years' experience in a Quality Engineering support role with cost savings/cost reduction experience within the electronics, metals, plastic injection molded parts, cables, electro-mechanical assemblies or other regulated industry.

Advanced degree and/or applicable certifications (ASQ CQA or CQE, 6s Black Belt).
Semiconductor industry experience.

Experience with demonstrated improvements of Supplier Quality by partnering with suppliers to drive supplier improvement activities, and a background in Supplier auditing driving continuous improvements.

Working knowledge of manufacturing processes.
