    Huntington is seeking a 7 hour Behavior Interventionist for the school year. The candidate should possess a desire to work with students who demonstrate behavioral and cognitive challenges. The Behavior Technician provides assistance to staff to address and maintain appropriate student behavior. The person may also assist in other areas of instruction, recreation, classroom organization and general supervision of students. This individual may lead some SAIG (social academic instructional groups). Training for specific intervention programs is provided. All activities are performed under the direction and supervision of the building administrator and/or special education teacher(s).

    A strong candidate for this position would have experience working with children with behavioral issues, disruptive and/or at risk youth and must have the ability to create strong positive relationships with students and staff.

    They should have knowledge of effective communication/crisis intervention/resolution/mediation skills.

    Position requirements:
    An associate's degree or at least 48 semester hours of college credit (equates to 72 quarter system hours).

    Successful candidate for this position will be required to submit an official transcript to verify they have met the educational requirement posted.

    If a candidate does not meet this requirement, the NDE flexibility requirement must be completed within the first 30 days of employment which includes training.

    Shift 7:45a-3:15p

    Hourly Pay Rate - $19.36

    Calendar - 183 days
