- Schedule Facebook posts to post two times a day (one in the morning and one in the evening) or other frequency as directed.

Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to serve as the communications staff person for the Department of Economic & Community Development Bureau of Health. This is accomplished by writing and editing copy for speeches, e-newsletters, media advisories, and numerous other communications, providing stories to the media about the Bureau's community health care initiatives/ developing concepts and participating in numerous internal and external committees which promote the activities of the Bureau Plan, develop and coordinate public health information and materials on broadcast, social, community, and institutional in skilled and creative ways to address public health issues as appropriate; develop core marketing messages focused on the value of the Bureau of Health and brings the community to help clarify the services and benefits realized by stakeholders and how these are different from other healthcare providers; respond and reply as directed to emergencies, assist with messaging and public service announcements. Build and maintain effective communication channels, including websites, social media platforms, newsletters, and other proprietary department channels, using state-of-the art communications technology as needed; create an integrated communications strategy which includes media outreach, branding, social media, marketing, advertising, and community engagement.

The employee normally performs the job by following established standard operating procedures and/or policies. There is a choice of the appropriate procedure or policy to apply to duties. Performance reviewed periodically.
Ability to read literature, books, reviews, scientific or technical journals, abstracts, financial reports, and/or legal documents.
Ability to deal with system of real numbers; practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios/proportions and measurement.
Ability to write editorials, journals, speeches, manuals, or critiques.
Minimum Acceptable Training and Experience
Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, marketing, health education, public health or related field required. An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.
Over one (1) year up to and including three (3) years.
Valid Class C driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
All persons who become employed by the City on or after the effective date of May 18, 2022, shall be or become residents of York County or any county contiguous to York County (Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Hartford, Baltimore, and Carroll Counties), within six months from the first date the employee achieves permanent employment status.
Must pass a background check, Drug Test and the PA Child Abuse
History Clearance check.
