    Technical & Professional Skills & Knowledge:

    • Has well developed understanding of relevant technical principles and their application to a program area. Develops/formulates Deployment issues, problems and needs in at least one technical area. Has acknowledged expertise at conceptual level of technical skills and knowledge in at least one program area. Has basic understanding of State energy/environmental economic development issues.

    Creativity in Project & Program Development:

    • Has developed and managed projects with little specific direction. Develops new projects and co-funding sources with own initiative. Carried out development of several projects through competitive solicitation phase that may or may not result from own initiative. Has provided ideas and rationale for program development in at least one technical area.

    Organization Skills & Productivity:

    • Has demonstrated ability to implement projects in a timely manner. Demonstrates the capability to manage all aspects of on-going projects with no supervision. Is able to prioritize workload with other responsibilities. Effectively discharges general technical and project management assignments in a timely manner. Demonstrates strategic thinking connected to the organization's goals.

    Leadership / Interpersonal Relations / Judgement:

    • Has demonstrated ability to effectively head working groups or program teams. Provides guidance to junior staff when appropriate and can supervise the day-to-day work of interns. Has full confidence of peers and superiors. People skills have developed to show leadership and an ability to motivate others

    Communication Skills & External Relations:

    • Has demonstrated ability to produce both written material and verbal presentations that are direct, recognize and focus on issues, are both comprehensive and concise and require editing only in most sensitive and complex areas. Is able to negotiate effectively with contractors and interface effectively with customers and other outside contacts. Has demonstrated ability to prepare and present papers at professional meetings, seminars and conferences.

    Skills Required:

    • Strong project management skills to be able to oversee many projects at the same time.
    • Ability to competently and confidently interact with outside stakeholders, including fleets, school districts and school bus operators, consultants, charging station hosts, and utilities.
    • Ability to learn systems quickly. Ability to stay organized and follow/set processes for managing many projects is essential.
    • Experience with utility engagement, vehicle fleet operations, and/or school district operations would be helpful but is not required.

    Special Skills:

    • Basic understanding of clean transportation, electric vehicles, and electric vehicle charging is strongly preferred.

    Certifications and qualifications, including education/degree

    • Bachelors degree required.
    • Background in civil or electrical engineering and/or transportation planning is not required but strongly preferred.

    IT Systems

    • Salesforce, NEIS, Microsoft Office.

    Tasks

    • Lead and support the technical assistance intake and application process for school bus fleet operators.
    • Review and approve applications including scopes of work, budgets, and schedules for technical assistance.
    • Support and manage all aspects of technical assistance projects including technical review (specifically on validity of route. analysis, charging plan development, and site planning), client engagement, and progress/budget tracking.
    • Engage with utilities to ensure that school districts and bus fleet operators are engaging with the utilities as needed and required by project SOWs.
    • Support broad engagement with schools and school bus fleets to inform them about the opportunities for school bus electrification.
    • Track, document, and report-out on projects as-needed, including number of districts, stage of projects, number of vehicles, progress on utility engagement.
