- Assist in resolving any portion of the merge process (at the facility level) identified by the Patient Access/Revenue Cycle.
- Validate unique identity and the appropriate medical record number or person identification assignment. Quality Standards Provider Services
- Serves as the Physician/Provider Liaison to resolve any chart completion concerns or issues.
- Ensures appropriate Release of Information procedures are followed as required by SHC policies, and state/federal confidentiality regulations, including HIPAA and HITECH.
- Ensures authorizations for release of heath information are HIPAA compliant and releases patient information in accordance with minimum necessary guidelines.
- Serves as the facility liaison for DNFB/Provider Hold Report. Reports concerns or issues (as needed).
- Identifies and resolves any issues with the DNFB/Provider Hold Report to ensure accounts are coded in a timely manner.
- Monitors, assists, and follows up with physicians and other hospital staff in completion of deficiencies in the medical record, compiles, verifies data and prepares reports regarding patient related statistics and distributes/posts data
- Provides back up to the HIM Manager for completing the monthly Closed Chart Review and Monthly Monitors Review.
- Handle complaints, provide appropriate solutions for customers, and follow-up to resolve any issues their customers experience.
