    **JOB DESCRIPTION**

    Adirondack Winery is seeking an Assistant Manager of our brand-new Queensbury Tasting Room whose focus is on Special Events. The ideal candidate for this position is a self-starter with initiative that has excellent customer service, sales, creativity, problem-solving, organizational, and supervision skills; combined with a professional, outgoing, and energetic personality. The right person for this job will be an enthusiastic person who creates dynamic, profitable events and maximizes the success of our participation in existing events that will significantly grow Adirondack Winerys customer base, business, and brand.

    Our Assistant Manager of Special Events is responsible for developing private onsite events at Adirondack Winerys locations, and for facilitating the representation of Adirondack Winery at profitable offsite events, to achieve or exceed sales and company goals. In this capacity, you will book, plan, detail, and execute (with assistance) all social, corporate, company-sponsored events, and offsite events.

    The Assistant Manager of Special Events reports directly to the Sr. Tasting Room Manager and must also work closely with the Assistant Manager of Tasting Room Operations to ensure wine and food service runs smoothly for each event. Staff Management and supervisory skills are a must, as you will be responsible for executing and running all events, with the assistance of both onsite and offsite tasting room and event staff and must ensure that all internal and external customers receive exemplary customer service and receive a positive event and brand experience.

    You will also work closely with the marketing department to collaborate on how to best market events, as well as to carry out marketing promotions on-site at our Tasting Rooms and at Offsite events. You will be responsible for attracting and booking new business to our events spaces, networking in the community to create opportunities, and identifying and researching event leads for both onsite and offsite events.

    During slow times for this position, the Events Manager may be required to chip in on general winery work, including, but not limited to, working in any other company departments, or assisting the company president with a variety of activities.

    **Work Schedule:** This position requires at least 40 hours of work per week, and the schedule is flexible and varies in accordance with Tasting Room and event needs. The schedule is heavily weighted to weekends and evenings when most event opportunities exist.

    The Assistant Manager of Special Events will be required to attend and supervise all onsite events and ensure appropriate representation at offsite events. In this capacity you will be required to attend the most profitable offsite events of the year; and will occasionally be required to fill in for the Offsite Events Coordinator to execute offsite events when suitable replacement staff cannot be found.

    **Work Location:** Home base is at our Queensbury Headquarters; with some travel for events to our Lake George Tasting Room and occasional travel required to offsite events in other parts of New York State.

    **Requirements:** A relevant bachelors degree and at least 2 years in event planning experience with some employee supervision experience is preferred, but equivalent experience accepted. Intermediate-level skills in MS Office Suite required. Responsible and trustworthy money handling skills required. Wine knowledge is preferred but will train the right candidate. Reliable transportation and the ability to work on your feet for several hours at a time and lift 50lbs is a must.

    **Pay:** $20-$21/hr + 10% of Base Pay Bonus
