- Support LS&S and RCLS's mission, vision, and values through exceptional leadership and dedicated patron focus.
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Indio and Mecca library branches including planning and prioritizing work, gathering and communicating information to staff, making decisions to ensure the proper functioning of the library, Reporting building and equipment-related issues promptly, and communicating with other library departments.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with community groups and library users
- Schedule branch staff to ensure appropriate coverage
- Monitor and develop employee performance
- Work closely with the Deputy Director and library leadership to plan, implement, and promote the library strategic plan.
- Foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace and a positive teamwork-oriented environment.
- Know, understand, and administer the American Library Association's Library Bill of Rights, Freedom to Read Statement and Freedom to View Statement, recognizing that freedom of access is a fundamental tenet of a public library
- Follow all legal and policy requirements related to patron privacy and custodianship of patron records.
- Have a basic understanding of California Labor Laws
