    Occupational Therapist (OT) Needed - Make a Difference at Union County Schools (Start ASAP - June 10th)

    Are you a passionate Occupational Therapist (OT) looking for a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to serve children in Monroe, NC?

    The Union County Board of Education (UCPS) is seeking a qualified OT to join our team This is a full-time (37.5 hours/week) position with a start date as soon as possible (ASAP) and an end date of June 10th, 2024.

    In this unique role, you will:

    • Provide essential occupational therapy services to students across three locations in Monroe, NC:
      • One elementary school
      • One preschool
      • A community preschool placement (with biweekly direct services and monthly consultations)
    • Collaborate with a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) at one of the school sites (supervision responsibilities included).
    • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care abilities.
    • Develop and implement individualized intervention plans to address each student's specific needs and support their participation in school activities.
    • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to student success.
    • Document progress, measure outcomes, and participate in data collection to track student achievement.

    The Ideal Candidate:

    • Holds a valid Occupational Therapist License in North Carolina.
    • Possesses experience working with children in a school setting (preferred).
    • Demonstrates a strong understanding of child development and occupational therapy practices for pediatric populations.
    • Has excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
    • Maintains a positive and enthusiastic demeanor with a commitment to student growth.
    • Proficient in documentation and data collection procedures.
