    Description

    The Clinical Systems Coordinator is responsible for configuration, testing, and development of the Hospital Information Systems (HIS) clinical modules. The Clinical Systems Coordinator works with a wide variety of groups within the hospital environment including clinicians, Medical Staff, CNO, ACNO, Education Department, other Clinical Systems Coordinators and clinical department directors to enhance clinical efficiency, the quality of patient care, and the reporting of such through the designated EMR programs. This position reports to the Director of Information Technology. Provides education to employees on system use as requested.

    *Must have a current Washington State RN License


    • The Clinical Systems Coordinator is responsible for the configuration, testing and analysis of the Hospital Information Systems (HIS) clinical modules by providing on-going software and end user support as assigned by the Director of Information Technology.


    • Ability to gain a comprehensive knowledge of the HIS clinical system modules, including the ability to determine procedural issues versus system/application deficiencies. Ability to provide a solution by applying knowledge as necessary.


    • Tracks and provides timely documentation and corrective action by effectively coordinating reported deficiencies or errors that occur in the software applications.


    • Works directly with the affected software vendor to address software error messages or to report application deficiencies.


    • Effectively communicates with clinicians, Medical Staff, CNO, ACNO and Clinical Department Directors on any problems or concerns with the clinical systems keeping a positive interaction of information sharing.


    • Works closely with other Systems Analysts of interfaced systems to ensure optimal performance. This includes testing of new interfaces and system change requests to reduce the impact on end users.


    • Participates in the development and maintenance of clinical systems policies and procedures, objectives and safety standards pertaining to HIS Clinical Systems.


    • Provides front line support during go-live of new clinical systems; provides super user assessment and training.


    • Promotes awareness of the importance of data validity and data security.


    • Reviews all vendor product released updates and upgrades received from the Helpdesk.


    • Performs system maintenance related to master files and clinical screen designs.


    • Assess the education needs of nursing staff related to clinical systems and charting standards.


    • Provides on-going clinical systems education on new system enhancements and effectively promotes the clinical systems use.


    • Develops and writes clinical systems education plans, policies and procedures and manuals. Develops competencies.


    • Regularly visits and communicates with nursing units and documents reported deficiencies and/or suggested changes.


    • Participates in Quality Improvement and Nursing Leadership teams to facilitate initiatives of clinical systems.

    Wage Scale: $ $67.44
