Adjuncts are essential to Liberty University's mission of Training Champions for Christ. It is expected that an adjunct member models a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University, engage in an active commitment to, and experience of, personal spiritual formation within a biblically informed Christian worldview. Adjuncts should view their teaching, engagement with students, and scholarship as a means to a significant educational end. They should strive to employ a variety of techniques for the development of good learning conditions, view each student as a unique individual, and insofar as it is possible, provide for individual differences, abilities, and interests.
Teach residential courses in American Sign Language and Interpreting in the Department of Modern Languages. Candidates must be committed to excellence in teaching. The position requires a love of teaching, the ability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats, knowledge of pedagogical best practices, the ability to use current teaching technology (LMS, e-textbooks, etc.), and a commitment to the evangelical standards and mission of Liberty University.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALSEducation and ExperienceMinimum Qualifications: MA/MS in American Sign Language, or a Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in discipline, ASLI certification, or experience in the field.
Preferred Qualifications: Terminal degree in American Sign Language or a related field; certification and experience; credentials to teach Linguistics.
All degrees must be from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Applicants must demonstrate a personal faith commitment to the university's evangelical Christian purpose. Full adherence to the evangelical mission and doctrine of Liberty University. Proven organizational skills and ability to complete assignments timely and accurately with minimal supervision. Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students with a wide range of skills. Ability to work well with students, faculty, and staff.
