    Director of Operations

    Job Summary

    Responsible for overseeing and the Manufacturing Operations of the business.

    This position is responsible for driving productivity and operational financial results. Regularly evaluates organizational efficiency and makes necessary changes to maximize staff productivity. The Director of Operations assesses the needs of the company and finds ways to contribute to the big picture by ensuring daily operations run smoothly and as efficiently as possible.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Motivate, support, and provide guidance to positions reporting up to this position.
    • Oversees manufacturing, purchasing, and production control departments, ensuring each is reaching goals set by departmental and company leadership.
    • Based on current Organizational structure, responsible to oversee the following:

    oProduction employees to meet and exceed production efficiencies - minimum 85% plant wide.

    oMeeting identified QMS goals, i.e. On Time Delivery, both Internal and External DPMs, etc.

    oNegotiated Supplier Pricing and Supplier Audits.

    oPassing Customer quality audits.

    oPlant safety compliance.

    oInventory accuracy.

    oROIs for Capital Expenditures.

    oMaintaining budget to actual for consumables.

    oManaging Overtime and Double-time payroll costs.

    oMaintain compliance with Union Contract.

    oOversee Equipment maintenance.

    oMiscellaneous Projects as needed.

    oBuilds and maintains a departmental structure, operating standards and practices that are responsive and

    adaptable to evolving business needs

    Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • 5+ years of proven experience as Director of Operations or relevant role
    • Results driven.
    • Self-motivated to drive continuous improvements within the organization.
    • Strong management skills.
    • Strong skills in planning, organizing, directing and coordinating a wide variety of activities; developing and implementing.
    • Superior managerial and diplomacy skills.
    • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to coach and motivate employees.
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
    • Mechanical or Industrial Engineering background a plus.

    • Reports to President.
