    Position Description:
    CGI is seeking a Technical Lead for Conversational AI.

    You will be responsible for designing and implementing the architecture and infrastructure of conversational AI systems, which are used in applications such as chatbots, virtual assistants, and automated customer support systems.

    You will lead a team of data scientists & machine Learning engineers, shaping the direction of conversational AI projects, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional user experiences.

    The Technical Lead for Conversational AI will play a pivotal role in driving the organization's AI initiatives and delivering enhanced user experiences through conversational AI solutions.

    Experience in cloud-based Conversational AI and on-prem building experience is key for this role.


    • This is fulltime position. Contract is not allowed for this role.
    • Candidate should be flexible to work in Hybrid model from any of our CGI offices. No remote work allowed.
    • Candidate should be willing to work in Eastern time zone.

    Your future duties and responsibilities:

    • Design high-level architecture of conversational AI systems, including the integration of various components like natural language understanding (NLU), natural language generation (NLG), dialogue management, and data storage.
    • Lead and mentor a team of conversational AI engineers and data scientists, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
    • Choose appropriate algorithms and machine learning models for tasks such as intent recognition, entity extraction, and sentiment analysis.
    • Evaluate and select appropriate AI platforms, Open-Source tools, and frameworks for Product Development.
    • Integrate and fine-tune pre-trained language models (e.g., GPT, BERT) to suit specific conversational applications.
    • Develop strategies for data collection, storage, and preprocessing, as well as methods for managing user interactions and feedback.
    • Create and manage the conversational flow, ensuring smooth interactions between the AI system and users.
    • Ensure the conversational AI system can function across various communication channels (e.g., web chat, mobile apps, voice assistants).
    • Design systems that can handle high volumes of concurrent users and accommodate future growth.
    • Continuously improve the performance and efficiency of the conversational AI system, minimizing response times and resource consumption.
    • Ensure smooth integration with external data sources, APIs, and other enterprise systems to provide comprehensive responses and actions.
    • Implement security measures to protect user data and maintain compliance with data privacy regulations.
    • Develop testing strategies to validate the accuracy and effectiveness of the conversational AI system, including functional testing and user testing.
    • Create comprehensive documentation for the system architecture, including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting guides.

    Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

    • 10+ years of experience in conversational AI development, including hands-on experience with NLP libraries and tools.
    • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or others commonly used in AI development.
    • Experience working with machine learning techniques and NLP algorithms.
    • Ability to design and implement scalable, modular conversational AI systems.
    Chat bot: 2 + years of experience with chatbot development for business use cases.


    • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for deploying and scaling AI systems.
    • LLM: At least one implementation of Conversational AI using Large Language Models.

    CI/CD:
    Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.


    • Effective communication is crucial for collaborating with cross-functional teams and explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • The ability to tackle complex issues and adapt to rapidly evolving AI technologies.
    • Understanding of data privacy regulations, security best practices, and ethical considerations in AI development.
    • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, or a related field.
    *CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.

    The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to:
    skill set level; experience and training; and licensure and certifications. CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $84,000 -$176,300.
