- Responsibilities:
- Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness, including dosage, route of administration, potential drug interactions, and special geriatric considerations.
- Procure and maintain all required documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Conduct audits of automated dispensing machines to ensure accuracy of filled medications.
- Provide clinical expertise by responding professionally to medication-related questions.
- Assist the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) with instructing, directing, and overseeing pharmacy technicians and staff.
- Follow current guidelines for preparing all pounds, including I.V. therapy.
- Ensure pliance with internal controls and state and federal regulations.
- Participate in the development and successful implementation of improvement plans as indicated by management.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy or PharmD
- Current, unrestricted Texas Pharmacist License
- Preferred: Long-term-care and FrameworkLTC software experience
- Health, Dental, and Vision insurance
