Assists residents in the Adult Care home with various activities of daily living. Must be certified as a Personal Care Aide in NY
    Salary: $16.90
    $2.00 Shift Differential for evening and night shifts
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to residents, family members, or employees of organization.
    • Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job
    • Certificate for Personal Care Aide or Home Health Aide is perferred. United Methodist Homes may also train Personal Care Aides to become certified.
    • Assists residents with dressing and grooming such as care of hair, nails and teeth.
    • Assists residents with bathing, showering, and toileting as needed.
    • Assists residents at mealtime with transporting to and from the dining room.
    • Assists residents with transfer or ambulation.
    • Makes beds and performs other light housekeeping duties such as removing dirty linens, straightening rooms, etc.
    • Performs charting duties including activity and treatment sheets.
    • Checks daily appointments for residents such as for the beauty shop, etc and assists with transport.
    • Encourages and assists residents to activities when necessary.
    • Sorts and distributes residents' laundry. Re-labels personal laundry as needed.
