- Research and analyze Customs rules, regulations and procedures related to the Customs valuation, classification and NAFTA.
- Handle the importation and exportation of finished goods, raw material, prototypes, machinery and special merchandise.
- Handle export documentation and export compliance.
- Create and maintain NAFTA certificates for all finished goods and raw materials.
- Work with other departments (purchasing, planning, program management and engineering) to get needed information for shipment crossings.
- Update and review HTS codes as necessary.
- Develop, execute, and maintain processes directly related to Conflict Minerals and Counterfeit Materials policies. Responsible for following up with suppliers to collect and maintain data.
- Coordinate, monitor and schedule the flow of information to the Conflict Minerals Team from Derby's supply base.
- Develop internal status reports for Conflict Minerals compliance.
- Provide guidance to Customers and Suppliers to maintain Conflict Minerals compliance.
- Maintain manufacturer/supplier responses to Conflict Minerals inquiries.
- Responsible for supplier development activities as requested.
- Responsible for annual supplier validations.
- Responsible for supplier development activities to ensure they are compliant with Derby requirements.
- File other compliance reports as requested
- All other work assigned.
- Safely and successfully completes all assigned duties on time and without errors.
- Interacts effectively with co-workers.
- Communicates problems or potential problems to appropriate personnel.
- Work area is clean and orderly.
- Experience in automotive manufacturing environment preferred.
- Previous experience in customs documentation creation preferred.
- Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office products.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Strong customer service/phone skills and flexibility for handling a wide range of activities.
- Ability to work within a team environment.
