- Expedites the operative procedure by anticipating the needs of the surgeon.
- Keeps the circulating nurse informed of upcoming patient care needs.
- Demonstrates collaboration with other team members in planning/giving patient care.
- Serves as a resource in at least 2 specialty areas/procedures.
- Performs in preceptor role for new & experienced staff in the scrub role.
- Provides working knowledge of powered instrumentation, video equipment, microscopes, and complex instrumentation, equipment.
- Assists in the evaluation of new products and equipment.
- Required Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Preferred Education: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
- Required Experience: 1-year experience as a Surgical Technologist
- Required Certification/License:
- Surgical Technologist registration required
- Must be eligible for Surgical Technologist registration via the Commonwealth of Virginia at the time of hire. Registration must be completed within 6 months of hire.
- BLS via AHA required
- Preferred Certification/License: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) via NCCT

Description
The renowned Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist to join the OR team in a full-time, evening shift schedule 11:00 AM - 11:30 PM. This Operating Room consists of 11 rooms that provide a wide spectrum of surgical services to include: Breast, Cancer, Colorectal, Cosmetic, general, gynecologic, head and neck joint replacements, melanoma, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, Oral Surgery, Urology. This position is eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.
Position Summary:
