    Slabe Machine Products in Willoughby, Ohio is hiring a CNC Program Engineer SMP has been around for over 85 years, is a debt free company, and we are rapidly growing We are looking to add a Programming Engineer to our staff The programmer would use Mastercam software to program our Mill Turns (Nakamura).

    Key Responsibilities
    • Collaborate with technical team in establishing the processes to manufacture complete parts including fixture design / work holding and tool selection.
    • Utilize CAM software in developing CNC programs as routed on Process Engineering Drawings.
    • Check completed programs by running process simulation / full machine simulations.
    • CNC programs as routed on Process Engineering Drawings
    • Check completed programs by running process simulation / full machine simulations.
    • Setup the machine before releasing for FAI and production, co-ordinate with quality in solving discrepancies.
    • Conduct tool study and utilize tool counters and develop macros to make sure operators change tools properly.
    • perform time-study / test-cuts on problematics jobs.
    • Train operators on how to properly run production and adhering to all manufacturing safety and precautions.
    Skills Knowledge and Expertise
    • 5 years min experience CNC programming.
    • 5 years experience using the latest revision of Cad Cam programing software (Mastercam).
    • 5 years min experience CNC machining for complex parts.
    • Excellent blueprint reading skill & thorough understanding of GD&T.
    • Experienced with metrology tools % processes for part inspection.
    • Experience G code programming at the machine control.
    • Good communication skills, math skills and attention to detail.
    • Tool Maker experiences a definite plus.
    • Honest with good integrity.
    • Professional demeanor and respectful to people in all situations.
    • Flexible and willing to help others as needs and tasks change often.
    • Works in an office and machine shop environment.
    • May on a continuous basis walk, bend and lift 40lbs.
    • Programming CNC: 5 years
    • Blueprint Reading and GD&T: 5 years
    • CNC machining of complex parts: 5 years
    • Metrology tools and processes of part inspection: 5 years
