Tracking Code Job Description **JOB SUMMARY:** The Packer assures by visual inspection that all containers and lids are being manufactured and packaged according to GPI quality standards and guidelines in a safe and efficient manner. Additionally, the Packer will be responsible for setting aside product that has irregularities and/or sticking that does not meet company quality standards.

**JOB FUNCTIONS:** *Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.*

Work within and adhere to GPIs core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships and Teamwork.

Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area.

Examine products or work to verify conformance to specifications.

Load or unload containers into machinery.

Load, unload or stack containers materials or products.

Set aside product that is below quality standards.

Work closely with Leads and alert Supervisor of any quality issues or reject conditions.

Watch molds for irregularities or sticking.

Timely response to quality issues is key to this position.

Stack and pack product per instructions that vary with different customers and orders.

Prepare proper product identification and/or packaging labels.

When the machine experiences an interruption in production, the packer/handler will take this available time to clean up oil, sweep, mop, make boxes or other tasks that may be assigned by the team leader or supervisor.

Follow all safety rules, regulations and policies.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills **BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:**

Manufacturing experience preferred.

Good hand -eye coordination is essential.

**SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:**

Schedules are up to 8 or 12-hour shifts on alternate days with rotating weekends off. However, employees must have the ability to work alternate schedules and overtime that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.

Some Departments/Jobs may run a M-F 8-hour Shift Schedule.

Must be willing and able to work overtime.

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:**

Sitting or standing, depending on changing job assignment, for extended periods.

Awkward and/or repetitive movements.

Routine Lifting up to 25 lbs.

Occasional Lifting up to 100 lbs.

Push/pull pallet jack with up to 1500lb. load.

Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment.

Work in areas of fluctuating temperature.
