- Perform system installations, grooms, upgrades, and maintenance on board US Submarines.
- Provide technical input to the design group as required for the development of new or revised Temporary Alterations, Operational Alterations, and Departure from Specification mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Work with the design teams to develop and build various test boxes to assist in shipboard testing.
- Work a wide range of complex submarine equipment and systems.
- Provide direct supervision to project and associated team
- Assist in project financial management
- Assist in project installation scheduling
- Construct, test and document copper and fiber optic cable connectors and back shells in accordance with Mil- STD-2003 & Mil-STD 2042
- Solve technical problems in accordance with prescribed specifications.
- Conduct submarine ship checks
- Use electronic systems drawings to request and order parts for various installations.
- Conduct laboratory and shipboard work.
- Construct electronic systems cables in accordance with electrical drawings.
- Draft Memorandums of Agreement, Work Authorization Forms, System Tagouts and Controlled work packages.
- Perform installation briefs with Government Sponsor, Senior Ships personnel and Regional Maintenance activities.
- Test, troubleshoot, install, calibrate, repair, and modify to submarine electronic equipment and systems
- Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance
- Ability to travel to various US Naval Submarine bases to support shipboard system installations, removals, and provide technical assistance as required. (10% to 20% travel per year)
- Ability to manage program and supporting personnel
- Ability to understand submarine sonar signal paths and work with our design team to develop Temporary Alteration Data Packages as required
- Researching parts and materials for various projects
- Working with submarine sonar systems
- Reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical assembly drawings
- Assembly work involving use of small hand tools/power tools
