    Description

    Serve guests of the Inn a fantastic, cooked to order breakfast Working as a member of ourFood & Beverage Team, ensure that guests have an enjoyable diningexperience by providing quality customer service, including accurately takingorders, understanding menu items and food preparation techniques, serving/clearingfood and drinks.

    Work closely with Management,Kitchen Staff and Food & Beverage personnel to help guarantee our guests adining experience which exceeds their expectations.


    Location:
    The Inn At Ocean's Edge, Lincolnville, ME

    Hours:
    hours per week, typically from 6am to 11 am

    Compensation: Starting at $15-$17 per hour

    Seasonal Position: mid May thru late October


    Start date: May 18, 2024

    Experience: Previous serving experience preferred, but not required.

    SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


    • Maintain a neat and professional appearance with a properlycleaned uniform.
    • Greet guests warmly, politely and in a timely manner once seated. Speak to guests withenthusiasm at all times.
    • Be prepared to answer questions about menu items and foodpreparation techniques and be prepared to make suggestions about special menuitems.
    • Understand order taking systems to be able to clearly,accurately and quickly covey guest orders to kitchen
    • Deliver food and beverage to tables in an efficient mannerfollowing appropriate table service techniques. Ensure that food is presentedto guests as ordered and according to restaurant quality standards.
    • Be available to guests to assist with any needs, corrections oradditional items desired during service. Understandwhen guests are unsatisfied with a meal and how to handle the situation.
    • Be able to determine when guests have finished meals, clearingtables in an efficient manner following appropriate table service techniques.
    • Ability to safely operate restaurant equipment including, butnot limited to coffee makers, refrigeration, juice machines, toasters and otherbasic kitchen equipment and appliances, etc.
    • Handle and communicate special orders and guest complaints in aprofessional manner. Shareinformation with customers about the status of their orders. Have a basic understanding ofcommon food allergies and communicate these issues to the kitchen to ensurediner safety.
    • Complete side work as assigned (resetting tables, stockingsupplies, cleaning, etc.)
    • Maintain food safety, service station and personal cleanlinessand sanitation standards as required by the Maine Department of Health andHuman Services and OSHA, as well as general maintenance and upkeep of diningroom/restaurant.
    • Know who to notify in case of broken equipment orunsafe/unsanitary conditions.
    • Must be able to manually handle/lift/carry product up to 60pounds between knee and shoulders.
    • Must have bilateral fine manipulation of both hands which may berepetitive for entire shift.
    • Must be vertically mobile working in limited space for entireshift.
