    I) Job Purpose
    The position of Crisis Patient Care Technician I serves to support the daily needs of all persons served by providing auxiliary care and customer service. This entry level position is paramount to the overall wellness and recovery of those in care and facilitates extreme attention to detail and communication with clinical providers and administration.

    II) Essential Functions
    1. Maintain the ability to communicate effectively in all situations including crisis scenarios as well as using all modes of communication including verbal, written, & non-verbal.
    2. Exercise a high level of attention to detail and organization appropriate to a clinical setting.
    3. Coordinate direct care and interventions congruent to agency standards and programmatic parameters including documentation when appropriate.
    4. Maintain the ability to assess and determine which direct care practices best meet ongoing needs and help track the progress toward recovery goals for persons served.
    5. Performance standards are performed as applicable with MHMR's We CARE values "We Connect People in Our Community. We Provide Access to Services. We Link People to Resources. We Empower People."
    6. Perform other job duties or responsibilities as requested or assigned.
    III) Knowledge of Laws, Regulations, Policies/Procedures, Skills, and Abilities
    • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms.
    • Working knowledge of psychopathology and DSM V classes of major mental illness.
    • Knowledge of the principles of Crisis Intervention.
    • High level of advocacy/arbitration/negotiation/conflict resolution skills.
    • Ability to think clearly under pressure and to perform effectively in high stress situations.
    • Knowledge of community resources
    • Ability to maintain clear and concise documentation.
    • Ability to organize work independently.
    • Ability to work independently without or with limited supervision.
    • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends and holidays.
    • Attend all necessary meetings at designated time intervals.
    • Attend and maintain all agency required trainings and refresher courses.
    IV) Internal & External Customer Service
    This position requires extensive internal and external contacts with persons served, family members, significant others, internal staff, external staff, service providers and practitioners, and community partners. The employee accomplishes communication with exceptional written and verbal skills by answering phone calls and emails in a timely fashion as defined by program needs as well as conducting themselves professionally in all interactions.

    V) Travel

    This position requires transporting clients and driving between locations as an essential function of work. Employees are required to have a license in good standing and be able to be covered by agency liability insurance. If personal vehicle is utilized for work travel, then maintaining personal auto insurance coverage is required.

    Pre-employment tests including drug and TB Screening, Physical Exam including balance and lift test.

    Additional Requirements

    All staff are required to participate in agency Emergency Preparedness and Environmental Safety programs and may be assigned by their departments as a key/essential staff level function during critical events or for the purpose of sustaining business continuity.

    This position may require temporary or permanent re-assignment to any MHMR Tarrant facility as determined by program needs and /or the Division/Director.

    Assigned work hours may change as the needs of the agency change.

    The functional Title of this position may change as the needs of the agency change.

    All work will be complete within the scheduled work hours. All non-exempt (hourly) employee are expected to clock In and out for each work shift, no work done should be done off the clock.

    Prior approval from supervisor is required for all Paid Time Off (PTO) and Overtime.

    MHMR reserves the tight to change, and to or eliminate a position as it deems appropriate.

    Employment is at will, as well as agency needs may change.

    Agency dress code is to be followed at all times.

    Physical on-site presence, including regular attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position. Any change or adjustments to your assigned work schedule or shift hours must be approved by your supervisor in advance.

    Insurance eligibility:

    • Full time employees begin 1st of the month following hire date
