    ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS:
    Non-rotating 40 hour work week, Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.

    Responsibilities

    Execute projects developed by the Water Quality Manager, Project Manager, or Water Quality Specialists; Participate in the Storm Water Monitoring of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System program by evaluating monitoring stations and ensuring they are properly maintained and working, collecting composite and grab samples and delivering samples to local lab according to specifications; Perform regulatory analysis and special projects relating to environmental issues of concern to the Utilities Department; Assist with hazardous spills that may endanger the municipal separate storm sewer system by evaluating degree of hazard, documenting pertinent information, monitoring the cleanup and remediation of site, providing back-up to fire Hazmat team, ensuring drainage system is protected from spills and investigating illicit connections and discharges; Supervise confined space entry personnel by acquiring and maintaining certifications, understanding proper procedures necessary to operate tripod, winch and atmospheric testing equipment; Collecting data in accordance to National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System by following permit requirements; Successfully implement procedures of dry and wet weather screening programs, Federal Emergency Management Agency inspection programs, high and low risk business inspections, and submitting timely and accurate documentation of programs; Create and maintain databases and spreadsheets; Assist with comprehensive compliance investigations in accordance with TCEQ procedures and accompanies TCEQ representatives during state required sampling events; Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and sampling stations; Cross train with Water Quality field staff to be able to perform collection of samples for Total Coliform Rule, Tank monitoring, DNA, and Disinfection Byproducts monitoring programs including bacterial and chemical sample


    Collection; Perform calibration of field equipment; Responsible for administrative duties by preparing and filing supportive data, monitoring inspection and work logs and following-up on unresolved issues; Duties of this position necessitate driving to sites within the City.

    Maintain professional and technical knowledge by keeping required license/certification current. May be asked to perform additional duties.

    Qualifications

    Position requires an Associate's degree with minimum of two (2) years of related experience. A combination of education and pertinent experience may be considered. A valid driver's license is required.

    Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire.

    Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
