- Identify and develop new products by collaborating with the ADS team and staying abreast of industry changes to meet customer requirements
- Provide technical and market intelligence insights to the technical and commercial teams based on current industry trends
- Oversee the preparation of highly technical NDA's and MSA's
- Manage all aspects of new product launches at Univar
- Aid in assessing potential new suppliers, raw materials, and other tasks as needed to support Univar's business
- Preferably hold a degree in Chemistry, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering (BS or higher) or possess equivalent work experience
- 5-10 years of industry experience
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
- Experience in midstream and downstream industries
- Understanding of the relationship between product chemistry and performance is a plus
- Highly adaptable and self-motivated with a passion for ongoing learning and enhancement

Main Objective:
The Application Development Specialist (ADS) will offer technical sales services to the UNIVAR Midstream/Upstream commercial team to aid in closing business opportunities and boosting sales through effective technical support for customers. By utilizing a collaborative and consultative approach, the ADS will promote Univar's unique global technology and product range over competitors, adapting and implementing technical solutions to address customer challenges.
The primary focus will be assisting customers in formulating their fluid systems with Univar's product line while providing the commercial team with strategies to position products based on value rather than price alone. This role demands a solid technical background coupled with strong skills in technical and commercial sales to cultivate long-lasting relationships with customers based on industry expertise. The ultimate goal is to drive a profitable business by understanding customer and market needs, and offering technical and consultative solutions through the optimization and development of new product technologies and strategies.
