Lab Technician III

Job Summary:
This is a Laboratory Technician III position in the Biological Materials, Analytical and Biosynthesis Team through the New Materials Institute. The selected candidate will provide technical support and collaborate with team members to address global challenges in areas such as microbial strain development, microbial fermentation, and analytical services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in microbial strain development, microbial fermentation, laboratory experiments, quality control management, data collection, sample analysis, equipment calibration, and analytical services
- Order and maintain supplies and perform laboratory maintenance tasks (autoclaving, dishwashing, equipment cleaning, laboratory cleaning)
- Conduct sample shipping and receiving, processing, data analysis, and report generation from experiments

Requirements:
- Technical knowledge in microbiology and applied chemistry
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, drive to pick up samples and supplies, sit for long periods, and perform repetitive hand movements

Working Conditions:
- Extensive hands-on laboratory work, coordination of lab supplies, and collaboration with team members
