    Description

    What do we do

    Under general direction from the direct Channel Sales Manager and Account Managers, responsible for supporting customers in assigned channel, the engineering community, and Channel Account Managers to meet revenue and margin objectives in assigned products. Estimates and applies HVAC I/O control products (dampers, valves/actuators, variable frequency drives, etc.) for Johnson Controls indirect customers to help maximize Johnson Controls products sales and best practices. Is the technical subject matter expert relating to Building Automation and Control Products (Facility Explorer and Metasys) and promotes and sells technical products for the Johnson Controls Indirect channel. They ascertain the needs of the customer, promote the relevant products, and demonstrate clearly how the products work.

    How do we do it

    • Establishing the technical needs of the customer and suggesting appropriate products.
    • Explaining complex technical information to customers in a way that is easily understandable.
    • Following up with customers and resolving any issues that may arise.
    • Keeping customers informed about new technological products.
    • Reviews major project scope/submittal and identify incremental sales opportunities to maximize JCI HVAC I/O product sales.
    • Recommends HVAC I/O control products solutions to customer objectives to maximize total value solution. Helps differentiate and leverage Johnson Controls product offerings from competitor's products.
    • Supports Indirect Channel Customers account plans for Specifying Engineers, Contractors, and Owners, focusing on Technical and HVAC I/O control products, with the goal of getting Johnson Controls products specified as "basis-of-design" or "or equal".
    • Visits key customers branch employees in the region to enhance customer satisfaction and knowledge of assigned products.
    • Will have a working knowledge of current lead-times at the factory, drive order expectations, and sign-off on major project final orders to allow use of standards and buy-blue best practices.
    • Follow up with Indirect Channel Customers operations teams, documenting any quality issues, installation issues, etc., to assure jobs are delivered and executed as expected.
    • Assist and recommend training classes as appropriate on product mix, features and benefits, tools sets, etc., to increase working knowledge within the channel.
    • Communicates new product introductions, flash sheet updates, product announcements, etc. to customer base.

    What we look for

    Able to relate to people at all levels, communicating both on a technical and non-technical basis. Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Possess excellent presentation skills and proficiency at making one on one and group presentations. Ability to travel a minimum of 25% - 50%, being both proactive and reactive to job requirements. This will vary on project assignment.

    Preferred

    Engineering degree preferred and minimum of 5 years of experience related to Mechanical Retrofits, HVAC controls, BAS management is desired. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Must have the ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.

    Able to support projects of higher project and contract complexity. Experience in dealing with a large and diverse number of simultaneous challenges, requiring knowledge of many different disciplines.

    Strong Personal Computer working capabilities in MS Office (excel, word, power point), Adobe Writer, Visio and basic Windows environment.
