Our Harco locations span across seven states in the US and we are looking for new individuals to come be a part of a dynamic and growing team todayWe currently have an exciting opportunity as a Production Manager This role is based in our plant in Bellingham, Washington and reports to the Plant Manager.

Job SummaryThe Production Manager will oversee the manufacturing/fabrication process to ensure fabrication equipment is running smoothly and efficiently.

They will work closely with other members of the fabrication team and other departments to plan work and set targets.

In addition, the Production Manager will monitor all products for quality assurance as efficiently as possible while adhering to corporate health and safety policies.

Principal ResponsibilitiesOversee production department personnel, including ensuring all employees are up-to-date on operating procedures and new equipmentPrepare operating and fabrication reports to summarize production, downtime, and variance by machine and shiftIdentify performance issues and formulate action plans to rectify problems.

Delegate responsibilities as requiredCoordinate fabrication schedules to meet customer demands, manage overtime, minimize inventories and overall production costsManage production department budgetMonitor production indicators (Hydra, Transition reports, Shift Performance Summary, and Cycle Times) to drive improvements in safety, quality and costs of productionIdentify and resolve root causes of all non-conformances and scrap with all fabrication departments, as well as discrepancies for work ordersEnsure daily shipping requirements are met by Shipping SupervisorDrive improvements in production standardsEnsure all production runs are following the Approved Compounds/Components List, Quality Control Manual, and ISO proceduresProvide environmental metrics for inclusion into the Aliaxis Quarterly Environmental ReportsManage the storage and disposal of all ancillary and process facility non-hazardous solid waste (recycled paper, cardboard, wood, plastics, regular landfill)Assist with hiring of Production personnel as requiredPerform other duties as required and/or assignedQualifications & ExperienceCompletion of college and/or university in engineering or manufacturing, or equivalent hands-on experience8+ years of progressive leadership experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environmentPrior experience participating in a Health and Safety Committee is an assetExperience in strategic planning, resource allocation, employee relations, leadership techniques and coordination of people and resourcesPrior experience with ISO 9001 an assetProven track record of improving performance in a leadership roleTechnical understanding of production planning techniques, current quality standards, lean manufacturing and safety requirements/laws (ISO 9001, Six Sigma, 5S, etc.)Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental practices in a manufacturing environmentKnowledge and ability to understand the process of machineryAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, etc.) and good general computer skills#LI-JM1Harco Fitting is committed to providing accommodations for people with disabilities throughout the recruitment process and, upon request, will work with qualified job applicants to provide suitable accommodation in a manner that takes into account the applicants accessibility needs due to disability.
