Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Superintendent

Cambridge, MA within 70 miles of Greater Boston)

12-Month Contract-to-Hire

We are seeking an experienced Transmission & Distribution Superintendent to oversee field construction activities for major power & utility infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget while maintaining strong coordination between subcontractors, project management, and client teams.

This is a great opportunity for a field-driven leader with hands-on experience in high-voltage transmission and substation construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily field operations and supervise construction activities
• Plan, organize, and coordinate assigned construction scopes
• Manage subcontractor performance, productivity, and contractual compliance
• Oversee high-voltage transmission and substation construction including:
• Transmission lines & steel structures
• Drilled piers & spread footings
• Grounding & duct banks
• Substation equipment, structures, electrical & controls
• Maintain project schedules and track installed quantities
• Conduct safety oversight, audits, PTAs & TSOs
• Interface with client representatives, engineers, and contractors
• Review drawings, specifications, and revisions for field execution
• Support material management, inspections, and equipment installation
• Walk down systems and support testing & restoration
• Prepare daily reports and construction documentation
• Identify risks using 3-week look-ahead planning
• Support change orders and project procedures

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree + 7 years T&D construction or craft supervision experience
• OR
• Associate Degree + 9 years relevant experience
• OR
• High School Diploma/GED + 11 years relevant experience

Required Skills

• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Extensive safety background in utility construction
• Experience with transmission lines and substations
• Ability to read isometrics, structural drawings & P&IDs
• Microsoft Office proficiency
• Valid driver's license & ability to meet driving requirements
